EYE CANDY: Painting Food

Paint what you love – and who doesn’t love food?  In this workshop, you’ll learn how to transform a simple setup of sweet and savory delicious things into a light-filled, colorful confection on canvas..

I will guide you through the process of creating a yummy still life that sets your painting up for success—from choosing and arranging your subjects to establishing the essential foundations of a strong painting. You will gain confidence by learning the simple 4-step process Manon uses in her own light-filled work to eliminate overwhelm, make intentional decisions, and keep the painting process intentional and fun.

Expect demos of juicy brushstrokes, vibrant color, and plenty of delicious inspiration, as well as time at your own easel. And, naturally, we may even do a little sampling of what we’re painting. After all, it’s important to know your subject!

Some drawing skills and knowledge beneficial. Oils, acrylics, and gouache acceptable. I will be painting in oil.
